This week parent teacher forms were sent home. Please remember to send them back by Tuesday if you have not done so yet. I sent home times with many students today. Please check their agendas. I will email the time slots as a reminder next Tuesday. Have a fabulous weekend!
Students have been busy researching an explorer. They have been taking the information they collect and transforming them into “I” statements. They rehearse their role with a partner. Then they have the opportunity to dress up as their explorer and be videotaped in front of a green screen. Finally we work together to choose a background and create a unique video of them as the Explorer. We use cool apps called DoInk Green Screen and DoInk Animation. To check out some of the student’s videos go to our Social Studies page under the Curriculum and Class Subjects menu.
Click below to watch our first Green Screen video. It is a learning process with the App. The students have done great research and are in the process of practicing their stories to tell.
Maritime Reptile Museum was in to introduce us to seven different types of reptiles and amphibians. Lindsay did a great job explaining their unique characteristics, their natural habitats and captivity habitats, adaptations, predators and prey and threats to their natural habitats.
After recess Dalhousie chemistry students visited our class and did many experiments with the students about chemical reactions.
Take a peek at the video below for a sneak peek of our morning.
