Homework

Homework is assigned to:

a) develop a sense of responsibility

b) develop organizational skills

c) develop time management skills

d) practice skills/concepts learned in class

I assign weekly homework that is passed out on Wednesday and to be returned the following Wednesday! This allows the flexibility for you to decide as a family what times of the day and/or week to complete assignments. Your child may choose to go ahead and complete 4 activities on Wednesday and Thursday because he/she knows that they have a hockey game the following Monday!

The students can bring back their folders if they finish their homework early.

I am flexible with this schedule.  All I ask is that you sign the agenda and tell me that your son/daughter was unable to complete his/her homework for the week. Otherwise students will be expected to have it completed and passed in by Wednesday. To hold the student accountable he or she may have to stay in the following week to complete unfinished homework unless it has been excused by mom/dad.

After every four weeks of homework, I usually assign a homework free week!

The homework sent home could take on the following format:

Wednesday (assigned) Read for 15-20 minutes

10-15 min of language arts or math

Thursday Read for 15-20 minutes

10-15 min of language arts or math

Monday Read for 15-20 minutes

10-15 min of language arts or math

Tuesday Read for 15-20 minutes

10-15 min of language arts or math
